Family therapy can offer families support and facilitation in developing healthy ways of communicating with family members, which may also help individuals develop awareness about themselves and their relationships with each other; this may take place in the form of a discussion and/or activities directed by your counsellor
Family therapy offers support and learning opportunities with shared responsibility between you and the family therapist to create goals relevant to your family
The process of change is influenced by many factors and may not always be easy or comfortable
Your active participation and feedback will lead to a more positive counselling experience
With commitment and engagement, most families can expect to see progress in 3 to 10 sessions
Periodically, the family therapist will invite your family to reflect on whether this service is the right fit for you. If your family finds this service is not working for you, the family therapist can help you find something that might be a better fit.
