The BEST way to support your picky eater is to NOT always give them same food. You can offer a safe food (something they know) at every meal, alongside foods they don’t know. For example, that could be lasagna (unsafe food) and cucumbers (safe food) or maybe it’s a beef & bean chili (unsafe food) with whole grain buns (safe food). And yes, if they ask for MORE of the safe food, without touching the new food, they should be given more. This teaches them to trust their body AND that food is safe and not to be feared.
