Philosophy:

Emily’s philosophy is based on supporting women as they transition through pregnancy into the beauty and complexity of motherhood. Pregnancy and post-partum does not need to hurt. Emily’s approach in the clinic involves education about what is happening in your body, hands on treatment that is unique to you and your needs, and homework of targeted exercises and planned activities. Emily believes in the importance of understanding your specific goals and tailoring evidence-based treatment to what you need. She is here to support you and to encourage you in a safe, empathetic environment.

Emily’s background is initially in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, so she is able to bring forward a diverse tool-box to help patients in their pregnancy and post-partum journey. Emily has experience with acupuncture, IMS, soft tissue mobilization, and spinal manipulation. She also uses the foundational strategies in pelvic health including breathing, core work and exercise. Emily is focused on concrete advice and education to help you understand your body. She is dedicated to active exercises that will empower you to make change in your body. Emily believes in creative solutions for activity modification to help you return to what you love, whether it is running a race or playing with your kids at the park. She has experience with vaginal births, C-sections, and VBACs. As a twin mama, Emily also has personal and professional experience with working with moms of multiples.

Emily has always had an interest in pregnancy and postpartum care. However, she came to investigate this path professionally when she became pregnant with her first child. She was determined to learn as much as she could about her own body. Emily feels strongly that the more women know about their journey in pregnancy and postpartum, the smoother the journey will be. Emily is now a mom to four littles, including twins, and she continues to be passionate about women’s pelvic health.
